On Saturday the 12th of April Walter and I participated in our first official march. We had to walk 41,2 km in the vicinity of Hardinxveld-Giessendam (a small town in The Netherlands). It was fun to walk with a lot more people around us. We started as early as possible (which was 08:00 for this particular march), in order to be able to walk the entire day.
During the walk we talked with a few other, more experience, walkers. It was interesting to hear the stories about marches they did in the past.
During the march we had a moving average of 6,3 km per hour. The entire march took 7 hours and 38 minutes (including a total of 1 hour and 9 minutes for pausing) which gives us a total average of 5,4 km per hour. The timetable of our march looks like this:
08:00 - 11:00: 18,9km
11:00 - 11:15: pause
11:15 - 13:05: 30,1km
13:05 - 13:32: pause
13:32 - 14:44: 36,9
14:44 - 15:00: pause
15:00 - 15:40: 41,2km
